Hopetoun & District Neighbourhood House is a volunteer-governed, not-for-profit incorporated association supporting the Hopetoun district and surrounding Mallee communities. Elected locals steer the direction; paid staff and volunteers bring it to life every day.

Our Committee of Management
Who we are
Guided by a volunteer Committee of Management and delivered by staff and volunteers, we provide programs, services and opportunities that strengthen community connection and wellbeing.
HDNH is a member of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria (NHVic) and receives funding through the Victorian Government's Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) under the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program (NHCP).

Providing a welcoming physical space where people can undertake activities, work on projects, and connect with others in the community.

Our history
2000
Beginnings
HDNH is established, auspiced by Gateway BEET. Operations begin from the former Hopetoun Public School.
2008
Incorporated
HDNH becomes an incorporated association. New partnerships form with the Men's Shed and Community Gym.
2000–24
Public School Era
For over two decades, HDNH operates from the former Hopetoun Public School — a trusted meeting place for the district.
2024
A New Home
HDNH transitions into the Gateway BEET premises at 75 Lascelles Street, integrating Gateway BEET services.

We deliver a diverse range of programs and activities — and actively encourage community members to start and run their own.
